Its not really an excursion, but, Nuuanu Pali State Park is a must see if you’re on O’ahu. We were in Kane’ohe so we took Highway 61 towards Honolulu to get there. The view from there is amazing as you look out to the island’s windward side and get a breathtaking view of Kane’ohe Bay. Be careful because the Trade Winds might knock you over! The combination of the trade winds and the formation of the lookout creates a wind tunnel that will leave you hanging on to railings to stay upright
It truly is an amazing view as you see the lush mountains on either side, sweeping down to the green valley below and then into the blue ocean. Its one of those places where, if you can tolerate the wind, you’ll find yourself entranced by the view and wonder why you don’t live in such a place.
