When I started my company A Sound Impression, a few years ago, I immediately fell in love with my job! One of the beautiful things about being in the wedding industry (and believe me, there’s many!) is getting an opportunity to travel with the bride and groom to the destination they’ve chosen to spend their special day together. Being from Nebraska, we don’t get the opportunity to shoot near an ocean or on a beach every day. However, our opportunities are becoming more and more prevalent with our option of destination Videography packages. More couples are understanding the importance of using vendors they can trust, which often times means bringing them with you to your destination. Our latest destination wedding was Monterey, CA and we are super excited for our upcoming wedding trip to Hawaii! The couple is getting married on the beautiful island of Kauai, with a small intimate setting of about 25 family members. Our equipment travels just as safely as we do, and new destinations allow extra creativity when it comes to the wedding video. Not to mention there is nothing that blows your guests away more than bringing the joy of your day back to show them all at your reception. Professional video makes a huge difference – they are memories you will never get back, would you trust them to just anyone?

Tips On Getting Married in Hawaii: Getting a Hawaii Marriage License

If you’re getting married in Hawaii you need to know a few things to make things move smoothly. There will be a few posts on the subject, but, the first deals with how to get a marriage license from Hawaii. If you’re getting married in Hawaii you must get a marriage license from the State of Hawaii. Here is some basic information you’ll need to know to get your Hawaii marriage license:

No blood test is required
Bride and Groom must be present to obtain the marriage license
Bring your driver’s license or other valid I.D.
The marriage license costs $60 (cash only)
Traffic and parking can be (and usually is) an issue so get their with enough time

It took us 30 minutes total (filling out the application, running across the street to an ATM, getting the license), but, you should be aware of holidays and furloughs. In Honolulu, the business hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm and the address is Room 101 (1st floor) of the Health Department Building, 1250 Punchbowl St. You can get information and phone numbers of other offices on neighboring islands by visiting Hawaii’s State Department of Health site.
